IHOP is officially open

International House of Pancakes is finally open. I believe it opened it's doors just two days ago, one day later than the scheduled December 20th. I was finishing my Christmas shopping in Southpark yesterday and managed to get a glimpse of the restaurant-it looks huge inside! Anyone tried it yet?

  1. Went there with my girlfriend on December 26 around 8:30 AM and it was absolute kaos, we were brought our beverages; my girlfriend ordered herbal tea, they had none, I ordered coffee and the cream was a whitener which I declined. We ordered soon after and were totally ignored for the next half hour. It's breakfast...how hard is it?
Needless to say we walked out and will never return. It was not a good experience.

  2. Went on 23rd in the evening. Was among the last few seated for the night.

The breakfast protein items like eggs and sausages are passable...a little better tasting than Denny's but really nothing special. Plain buttermilk pancakes were pretty good.

It's not terrible, but I say one shouldn't go out of his/her way to eat here.

  3. I would kind of expect the food not to be that great. It's just one of those things that you want to try. I tried going there today with my boyfriend and friend. 40 minutes to 1 hour wait. Then we drove down the Cora's and things didn't look that different.

  4. Catching up on your blog and found it amusing that the second time I went to IHOP, it was too busy, so a friend recommended we go to Cora's as well, and we also found the same thing. By then we just went to Tim Hortons and had a bagel, otherwise arms would have been gnawed off. :)
